William K. Bergman, PhD is highly regarded for his expertise in rehabilitation and core strengthening and is a spine rehabilitation specialist as well as being certified by the National Association of Speed and Explosion. Earning his doctorate in kinesiology from Ryokan University, Dr. Bergman brings a unique skill set to the multi-disciplinary team at DISC using applied scientific-based medical principles towards the analysis, preservation and enhancement of human movement, he focuses on targeted exercise for improvement of health, physical fitness and chronic back pain.
Specializing in a form of neck and low back rehabilitation known as MedX. Dr. Bergman was one of the first people trained and certified by the legendary Nautilus developer Arthur Jones in 1989 on this high-tech equipment. He has recently been certified by the National Association of Speed and Explosion.
Prior to joining DISC, he was president of the Structural Wellness Center and previously served as Clinic Director of Spinal Health Care and Santa Monica Spine Care. Dr. Bergman also held the position as Director of Rehabilitation for Joint Rehab and Sports Medicine.
As a former competitive body builder and one of the first personal trainers at Gold’s Gym, Dr. Bergman’s educational background and training gives him impeccable credentials to help his patients achieve their individual goals whether it is core strengthening prior to surgery or assistance with post-operative recovery. Among his charitable works, he has a distinguished volunteer record having been a Big Brother to the mentally challenged for over 20 years.
