Dr. Terry Krekorian is a board certified anesthesiologist with expertise in pediatric and cardiac anesthesia, as well as difficult airway management. He maintains a current affiliation with DISC, where he is the Director of Anesthesia, as well as with several hospitals and clinics in the Los Angeles area.
After receiving Cum Laude and Chancellor’s Marshall awards while obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Psychobiology from UCLA, Dr. Krekorian then graduated from the UCSD School of Medicine, where he won the award for most outstanding research thesis. During his time in San Diego, the Deafness Research Foundation awarded him a one year Otologic Fellowship, which he spent performing research within the UCSD Division of Otolaryngology. Dr. Krekorian then completed a general surgery internship at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, California. He matriculated in Head and Neck Surgery at Harvard Medical School, and then transferred to complete an Anesthesiology Residency at UCLA. At UCLA, Dr. Krekorian spent an extra year in a Pediatric and Adult Cardiac Anesthesia fellowship, where he acquired expertise in transesophageal echocardiography and management of critically ill infants and children. During this time he participated in the Glaxo-Wellcome Resident Scholar Program.
Dr. Krekorian is a member of both the American and California Societies of Anesthesiologists. He previously served as Assistant Clinical Professor in Pediatric Anesthesia and Cardiac Anesthesia at UCLA. At Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Dr. Krekorian was a member of the Pediatric, Cardiac, Neurologic, and General Anesthesia teams. With many peer-reviewed publications to his name, Dr. Krekorian’s commitment to research is also exhibited by his previous work in the UCSD ENT Immunology Laboratory, Neurology and Neurosurgery Research Laboratories at UCSD and UCLA, respectively, and the Maxillofacial Clinic and Laboratory at UCLA.
